Chris’s journey in the construction industry began in 2007 when he started working with a high-end builder specializing in architectural hill builds. Over the years, he honed his skills and gained valuable experience in the field, becoming a qualified builder in 2011. Determined to further his expertise, he pursued and successfully earned a diploma in Construction Management in 2014.
At the beginning of 2016, Chris took his career abroad, moving to the UK, where he took on the role of site manager. Over the next three years, he led multi-million-pound residential refurbishment projects, refining his project management and leadership skills in a demanding and competitive market. By the end of 2018, he returned home to New Zealand, taking up a site manager role for a commercial construction company in Christchurch.
With a strong foundation in both residential and commercial construction, Chris took a leap of faith and founded CP Build in March 2020—right at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges of starting a business during such an uncertain time, CP Build steadily grew, initially focusing on minor renovations as well as bathroom and kitchen upgrades.
After building a solid reputation through renovation projects, CP Build reached an exciting milestone at the beginning of 2023 with the completion of its first new home build in Cashmere Estate. This project marked the company’s expansion into full-scale residential construction, paving the way for future high-quality home builds.
