Cedar transformation
The core objective of this project was to design and build a modern 40m2 extension that would seamlessly connect a previously detached garage to the main home. Key to the brief was creating a clear architectural distinction between the original house and the new structure, while also providing internal access from the new attached garage. The project aimed to significantly increase the home's functionality and living space.

The core objective of this project was to design and build a modern 40m2 extension that would seamlessly connect a previously detached garage to the main home. Key to the brief was creating a clear architectural distinction between the original house and the new structure, while also providing internal access from the new attached garage. The project aimed to significantly increase the home's functionality and living space.
A modern contrast
To achieve the vision of differentiating the old from the new, the original house exterior was fully replastered and repainted, giving it a clean, refreshed finish. In stark contrast, the new extension was clad in beautiful Western Red Cedar. The warm, natural tones of the timber are sharply defined by contemporary black aluminium joinery, creating a bold and modern aesthetic that stands apart from the original structure yet complements it perfectly.
